Celebrating our student’s success!

Super Badger Award!

We would like to say a big well done to Libby in year 10, who has achieved the Super Badger Award as a St John Ambulance Badger.

Badgers are the youngest members of St John Ambulance; they take part in a wide range of fun activities on various topics and earn badges for each one. On completion of nine subjects Badgers achieve the Super Badger Award. The Super Badger Award is the highest award a Badger can achieve.

Well done Libby!

Year 7 Boys Football team take on Ryde School

Year 7 Boys Football Team take on Ryde School

It was a lovely autumn afternoon for Football, the game started frantically with both teams trying their best and working hard. Medina were the first to score a beautiful curling finish from Bobby into the top corner. Ryde grew into the game and looked dangerous but some solid defending from Dylan, Jaiden and Harrison limited Ryde’s chances. Medina started to control the game and won a free kick just inside the Ryde half. Jaiden stepped up and struck the ball well and it ended up going into the far corner of the goal. Ryde responded well and had some strong individual performances which allowed them to score through a deflected shot. Medina made two substitutions to get some fresh legs on and Logan nearly scored with his first touch in Medina colours. Callum also came on as a substitute and scored a great counter attacking goal for Medina to go into the break 3-1 up.

Ryde started the second half stronger and hit back with a goal to make it 3-2. Medina continued to push forward with some fantastic interplay from Owen and Eron. This is where the next goal came from with Ashton, striking a shot into the bottom corner from the left making it 4-2. Despite some fantastic play from Dillon and Blayze, Ryde threw caution to the wind for the next 10 mins and managed to get the score back to 4-4. Medina managed to get a winning goal through Ashton dribbling past 2 defenders and striking it into the top corner, a goal worthy of winning any game!

A brilliant first game, well done to all players from Medina and Ryde School for playing such a great match.

16 September 2022

Message from Mr Parr-Burman, Executive Headteacher

We would like to start this week by thanking the students and school communities for the respect that they have shown over the past week. We have had Books of Condolence on each of the Federation sites which students and staff have been able to add messages to. Some of the messages have been clearly thought about.

As communicated this week, we will be observing the National Holiday on Monday for the State Funeral, so as this is considered a Bank Holiday, work will not be set for the students. We will be open as usual on Tuesday 20 September.

We do have upcoming Open Evenings as Year 6 and Year 11 parents look to the next academic year. These evenings are
Tuesday 20 September 5.00 pm – 8.00 pm – Medina College
Tuesday 27 September 5.00 pm – 8.00 pm – Carisbrooke College
Thursday 3 November 5.00 pm – 8.00 pm – The Island VI Form

We will be returning to our usual newsletters next week, but for this week, we will continue to show our respect to The Royal Family by keeping our update short.
