Dear VI Form Students & Parents

Welcome to this week’s blog.

I’ve decided to do a joint briefing that covers a few key dates and then information about a funding opportunity that students could access. Please watch via the link below.

You should now be aware of the change in Government rules on face coverings:  ‘In schools where pupils in year 7 and above are educated, face coverings should be worn by adults and pupils when moving around the premises, outside of classrooms, such as in corridors and communal areas where social distancing cannot easily be maintained.’

Therefore I thought I would do some Q&A:

Do I have to wear a face covering in lessons?  No

Do I still have to clean my hands?  Yes, hand hygiene is now even more important than ever.  Wash your hands as soon as you take off your mask and before you put it on.

Do I have to wear a face covering if I leave the classroom to go to the toilet during a lesson?  Yes – wear it at all times when moving around the Campus.

Do I have to wear a face covering in the canteen / common room / library? Yes if standing up or moving around, No if seated (similar to the hospitality rules).  Remember to socially distance in these areas.

Have a safe weekend.

Best regards,

Dave Mumford
