Dear Students, Parents & Carers,

A short blog from me today, which includes details of some of the up and coming events and some new enrichment opportunities.

When we return after half term, a number of enrichment clubs will be starting up, adding to the range of opportunities available to all students during their time with us.

  • Mr Cody & Mr Cronin invite students to join their Film club on Tuesday lunchtimes – this is open to all students who enjoy movies, want to watch and talk about them, have aspirations to write or make films or just love the cinema.
  • Mrs West & Miss O’Shaughnessy are getting Crafty on Wednesdays (lunchtime) with a Chat, Chill & Craft session – planning to combine this with a chance to get stuck into some Board games. What were your childhood favourites?  KerPlunk? Battleships? Monopoly?
  • Mrs Lowthion will be continuing her ‘Talking Shop’ to discuss hot topics of the day. For example: “Hot Dogs or Burgers?” – is a meat-based diet the worst choice we could make? “Religion has no place in schools.” “We are full of hope about the future” Thursdays during Morning break.

More opportunities will be offered and if there is something that you would like to be doing but don’t think we offer yet – come and let us know. Student led clubs are also encouraged.

As Covid restrictions are slowly lifting, we will be returning to whole year group assemblies after half term and I will also be inviting students to join our Student Voice team, so that they can have an input into the running and development of their VI Form.

Please make sure that you use the time over the half term to revise and make good preparations for the Trial exams that start on 1st July (only 5 weeks away).

Enjoy your weekend and hopefully a sunny half-term
