The College values our Parent Voice and we have built on the College’s previous excellent achievements which included being awarded the National Leading Parent Partnership Award (LPPA).
What is Medina College Parent Voice?
Parent Voice is run by the parents of the College for the parents, with direct links to the leadership team and the governors. Medina College welcomes input from parents, recognising that students enjoy school more, behave better and achieve more when their parents have a positive relationship with the school.
Am I automatically a member?
Any adult who is a carer or parent of a student at Medina College is automatically a member of Medina College Parent Voice and is welcome to attend meetings.
Is it the same as a Parent Teacher Association?
Parent Voice is parent-led. We invite the Head of School or another senior leader to our meetings, so they can ask for our feedback on what’s being planned for the school, and answer our questions. We sometimes have guest speakers. We also invite a governor to attend. A member of the school staff acts as our school link for any questions that come up; but the membership itself is made up of Medina College parents/carers. It’s a great chance to find out more about what’s going on in school, meet staff and other parents and share news and ideas.
When and where does it meet?
Parent Voice meets in school once every half-term in the Medina College Library. Dates for 2020-21 meetings will be shared shortly.
