Grammar School Stream

Medina College’s Grammar School Stream offers students the opportunity for an academically challenging, robust and engaging education.

Subjects studied will not only prove to be academically challenging and prepare students for entry to Russell Group universities but will also stimulate and interest young minds. Students will have their learning supported by a number of school trips that will broaden perspectives.

As well as the opportunity to study all subjects in more depth and to undertake Latin, students will be able to access Medina’s well-renowned and established arts, sports and music facilities, including Medina Maestro.

Throughout their time in the Grammar Stream, students are supported and cared for through an excellent pastoral and mentoring system.

This year, in light of students not having the opportunity to sit their SATs, we have made the decision to change our entry process to the Grammar Stream. In their first half-term at Medina, students will sit their CATs.  Once we have the results, students with the top CATs scores will meet with a senior leader to discuss whether they would like to be part of the Grammar Stream. We will, of course, notify parents of meetings and outcomes.
