Farm Club gets off to a fantastic start with overwhelming support from local and national businesses

Our new Farm Club received some amazing donations over the half term break to ensure that they got off to a great start this week. We would like to express our huge thanks to the following local companies:
Jewson Newport for their donation of a wheelbarrow
– Isle of Wight Compost & Aggregates for their donation of 2 tonnes of fantastic, high quality compost
– Local Farmer, Matt Legge, for his donation of 7 huge tractor tyres which we will use as planters.

We are also extremely excited about the hydroponics growing tower that has very kindly been donated to us by Rethink Food. The soil-free system will be used to teach students about the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals alongside a growing programme. The growing tower increases yields by as much as 30% and triples the speed of growth while using only 10% of the water and space. It also allows you to grow plants all year long.

Farm Club will be setting the system up shortly and we can’t wait to see their first crop!
