18 March 2022

Welcome to my update for this week.

Firstly, thank you to all of the Year 9 students and parents/carers who came to our in person KS4 Pathways Evening on Wednesday evening. We were pleased, from the feedback we had, that you found it useful and that it has sparked some conversations about the potential future opportunities. If you were unable to attend, then your child should have brought home the Pathways booklet and more details can be found on our website: Pathways Information. A link to a straw poll form has been emailed to all year 9 parents and we ask that this is completed and submitted by Wednesday 23 March. We hope that our Year 9 students also enjoyed the ‘Music morning’ held in the Theatre today, which will have also given them some more insight into that curriculum area.

There are only just under eight calendar weeks (six school weeks), before the Year 11 exam season starts. Students need to make sure they are taking their revision at home seriously, attending revision sessions that are being run and need to make sure that sessions that are offered over the Easter break are used to maximise their learning. 100% attendance is vital for all year groups, but especially so for Year 11, as they need to use every opportunity to ask questions and share concerns as well.

We have a Federation performance of Treasure Island on Tuesday, 29 and Thursday, 31 March, which is being held in the Hall at Carisbrooke College. Medina College students will be starring in the leading roles on the Thursday evening performance. Tickets can be bought through the School Gateway.

Please make sure you follow our social media sites on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram, as these are updated frequently during the week with exciting news stories and a wealth of information.

I hope you have a good weekend.
