Drumming and Strumming

The student-led virtual charity concert with some big names to raise funds for Shanklin Theatre.

Well done to Medina College students Jake Curran and Tilly Grimshaw who have put together a virtual charity concert to raise funds for Shanklin Theatre and have managed to confirm some top name performers. They have organised the concert as part of their Duke of Edinburgh Award.

Drumming and Strumming will take place at 7pm on 22nd April and is free to watch on Facebook and Youtube by following this link: Drumming and Strumming

Donations to the Theatre are encouraged via this link: Please donate to Shanklin Theatre (enthuse.com)

Shanklin Theatre is highly valued by the Island community as an entertainment venue and provides a place for numerous local dance, drama and music groups to perform. The funds raised will help the theatre to bounce back from the current closure.

As well as organising the event, Jake and Tilly will also perform in the concert with their band, The Solar Escape. The full line up can be viewed below.

As members of The Solar Escape, Tilly and I know how hard the entertainment sector has been hit by COVID-19. That’s why we’re organising Drumming and Strumming for Shanklin Theatre, as part of our Duke of Edinburgh Award.
