The Careers Team at IWEF deliver the Careers Information, Advice and Guidance programme. We aim to enable all students to implement well informed and realistic decisions as well as successfully manage change and transition for their futures. The transition from school to further education can be a challenging time for both students and parents to understand all of the different opportunities. As a College, we are committed to supporting you to make a smooth transition.
We offer Careers Information, Advice and Guidance programme which is delivered through a variety of Career related activities throughout the year and in different learning styles to suit your individual needs.
Career opportunities will be offered to you throughout the academic year. Please see a some of the opportunities which may be offered you:
You will have a true student university experience which can be subject specific or general higher education. Activities are geared to a topic and delivered through interactive workshops and a ‘lecture style’ brief.
A range of different inspirational speakers which are delivered in assembly time, giving you an opportunity to listen to journeys taken by individuals and a chance to hear about different careers and opportunities.
In year 10 you will be given the opportunity to have a week away from the school curriculum and have a week in the workplace, we understand that sometimes choosing a careers or job sector a this stage may be something that you have little confidence in so we support you with spending a week in a workplace that allows you to develop yourself and gain a chance to acknowledge your skills and attributes that can help you with decision making for the future.
This is an interactive day of team building activities and challenges which includes an assembly presentation about army life.
Please see our Careers Strategy and Programme for full details of the opportunities we offer our students.
