Year 10 enjoyed a day out at The Island VI Form on Tuesday where they experienced first-hand what education is like Post-16. Year 10 had the opportunity to engage in a range of subjects and understand more clearly the entry requirements of courses, what a day at The Island VI Form looks like and the opportunities available to them if they attend after their GCSEs.
As you can see, Year 10 took full advantage of the social time by improving their pool and table tennis skills. They also experienced some of the freedom that comes with being a VI Form student, such as being able to go off campus for their lunch.
Thank you to The Island VI Form team for allowing Year 10 the opportunity to experience what life as a VI Form student is like! The experience has really made our students think about their future and the options available to them.
Mr Mumford, Head of School at The Island VI Form commented that “It was a pleasure to host Carisbrooke College Year 10 this week and show them around our VI Form Campus. Their behaviour was excellent and they impressed our staff with their enthusiasm and maturity. My advice to students at this stage is to keep working hard throughout Year 11 and keep your options open. We hope to see you next year!”
