In preparation for their final coursework projects, Year 10 students have been building an impressive array of wildlife houses.
The project was originally started when we returned from the first lock down. It was the students’ last practice run at creating a project before undertaking the Year 11 Non Examination Assessment.
Students were tasked with creating a wildlife house for a relative of their choice who acted as a client to guide their design decisions.
Most of the work was completed by hand using basic woodworking tools and the main material used was plywood.
Every single student completed the project and many designed and manufactured individual, creative, high quality designs.
Special awards have been given for Perry’s plane, Harry’s acorn, Toby’s egg, Matthew’s rocket, Sophie’s multi-tiered bird house and Jenson’s hedgehog house.
