Year 10 students were extremely lucky to have an assembly last week with Emily King. Emily is currently completing a massive three day charity challenge where she is circumnavigating the Island twice, by stand up paddle board and by bicycle, then running a marathon across the centre of the Island.
Emily began stand up paddle boarding after a vicious dog attack left her with PTSD and agoraphobia. She is now one of the UK’s most successful paddle boarding athletes.
Emily is a passionate supporter of mental health and is completing the charity to support the Isle of Wight Youth Trust. Emily spoke to students about resilience and overcoming obstacles, how she stays motivated and the work involved in her training. We are very grateful to Emily for giving up her time to inspire our students.
