It does not seem possible that Year 11 have 15 school days left. Next week would have been the start of the real exams across the country for year 11. These last few days are crucial to ensuring that they have as much evidence as possible to support the teacher assessed grades. Please encourage them to focus on their learning and make the most of the remaining days. Mr Mumford, Head of School at The Island VI Form is carrying out initial interviews with them which is an important part of their next step. It is not too late to apply – applications are open right up to the start of term in September.

Year 10 parents, please can I urge you to make a parents evening appointment to meet with your child’s subject teachers on Wednesday 19 May. It is an opportunity to find out how to support your child. If you need any support in making appointments, please contact Mrs Hookey, Head of Year 10.

We are sticking to our high expectations in terms of uniform and almost all our students come to school correctly dressed. However, there are still a handful of students in leggings, skirts that are rather short and some students wearing hoodies. We will continue to pick these issues up and we are very grateful to you for supporting us with this.

In light of changes made to parents’ evenings this year due to coronavirus, we are looking for feedback from parents on how they would like parents’ evenings to run next year. Please make sure you complete the parent questionnaire if you have not already done so using this link.  https://www.surveymonkey.co.uk/r/KLFQVRR

A reminder to all students and parents/carers, LFD test kits are for asymptomatic testing ONLY. If any member of a household displays any SINGLE ONE of the published COVID symptoms, then a PCR test must be arranged, and they need to self-isolate until the test result is received. The guidance that is issued at that point must then be followed. It really is important that we continue to follow government guidelines of Hands-Face-Space and not get complacent.

Well done to the top reward point achievers in the last week of the Spring term: Year 7 Matthew , Year 8’s joint winners Twiggy  and Olivia , Year 9 Christian , Year 10 Harley  and in Year 11 Mischa.
