26th March 2021

Dear student, parents and carers,

Today is the last day of the second term, which means we are over two thirds of our way through the academic year! It is strange writing this end of term blog when we have only had the students back in for three weeks and, for year 9, two weeks and a day! It has been so nice to return to some sort of normality!

We have thirty five school days before year 11 potentially finish their time at Carisbrooke College.  There are several sessions being run by departments over Easter and plans are in place for next half term to enable them to do the best they can in terms of Teacher Assessed Grades.  Attendance has never been so critical for year 11 and they cannot afford to miss any lessons.  A little reminder to them to get their applications in for the VI Form Campus for next year.

The uptake of LFD testing in school was exceptionally positive with over 80%, in all year groups, doing the tests. The responses so far from the testing at home is not so good. We have about 30% reporting their test results. Please can I urge you to complete the tests on a Monday and Thursday and report the result.  Students have today, been issued with home test kits to last over the Easter break. The initial LFD testing has been an important part of supporting the schools to reopen to all students.

Well done to the top reward point achievers last week: Year 7 Preslava K, Year 8 Luca G, Year 9 Ryan I, Year 10 Maxwell B and in Year 11 Chloe C.

We look forward to welcoming everyone back on Monday 12 April.

Have a lovely Easter break.
