Dear students, parents and carers,
I had the pleasure of going into school today and seeing staff and students. It was lovely to see how well they have settled to the new normal! The vast majority of students have managed to adapt and follow the instructions and guidelines. As I said last week, it is really important that students feel confident that they are in a safe and secure environment and, as a result, some students needed to be strongly sanctioned. Students need to understand the importance of social distancing which means they can’t hug, huddle or touch each other.
Getting a test for COVID-19 is proving difficult, both locally and nationally. The advice to people is only seek a test if they have the following symptoms:
We have had a professional photographer in today taking photos of years 7, 9 and 11. Feedback from the photographers was really positive about how polite and well-mannered our students were.
Don’t forget the Cognitive Ability Tests (CATs) are starting on Monday 21st September. Mrs Edwards ran an assembly for year 7 students today and has, therefore, hopefully put their minds at rest.
Well done to the top house point achievers for over the last two weeks:
Year 7 Angel Mitchell
Year 8 Eben O’Callaghan
Year 9 Alfie Houghton
Year 10 Lucas Best
Year 11 Daniel Yates
Many thanks for your continued support.
Hope you have a lovely weekend.
