Dear students, parents and carers,

It does not seem possible that I am writing the final newsletter for this half term. I would like to acknowledge the hard work of all the students and staff at Carisbrooke in what has been a busy and challenging half term.

I have been very impressed with the engagement and work ethic of the majority of our students in lessons that I have visited. It has been a real pleasure giving out so many Headteacher awards in the celebration assemblies this week.

Our first virtual parents’ evening went really well on Wednesday night. Feedback from the Year 7 team was that it worked well, albeit a bit strange when the conversation terminated once your allocated time had been reached. They were pleased to have been able to meet parents and share the positives with them on how Year 7 have settled in. If you were not able to make an appointment, please email your child’s tutor as they will be more than happy to arrange a phone call with you.

Next half term we are changing the break and lunch patterns for the year groups. These have been shared with students. The rationale behind rotating the year groups each half term means that the same subject is not being affected by staggered break and lunch times, which reduces the lesson time.

Well done to the top reward point achievers last week: Year 7 – joint winners: Taylor Penney and Lexi Wheeler Year 8 – Mia George Year 9 – Lily Bailey Year 10 – Alex Freeman Year 11 – Charlotte Hall

Thank you for your continued support. Enjoy a restful half term break. We are back to school on Monday 2nd November.
